Judge Nadia S. Medrano

Bio Information

Judge Nadia S. Medrano serves as United States Magistrate Judge in the McAllen Division of the Southern District of Texas. She was appointed in January 2021.

Judge Medrano received a B.A. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.

From 2006 to 2007, Judge Medrano was in private practice at Jones, Galligan, Key & Lozano, LLP, practicing commercial litigation. From 2007 to 2021, she was an Assistant Federal Public Defender in McAllen.

During her time at the Federal Public Defender’s Office, she was a board member for the Hidalgo County Bar Association, serving as treasurer and earning awards for Board Member of the Year and Member of the Year. Currently, she serves on the Knapp Community Cares Foundation as a board member.

From 2017 to 2020, in her free time from the law, she ran a kids yoga studio, YogaPlay, in McAllen. She now spends her free time running around after her two children, Noah (8) and Caleb (3), with her husband Armando.
