Federal Court Scams Alert. Federal courts will never use a phone call or email to request personal or financial information, or to threaten recipients who don’t comply. If you receive a threatening phone call or email, do not disclose any information. These types of phone calls and emails are fraudulent and are not connected with the federal courts.
The Judicial Conference has approved changes to the federal court miscellaneous fee schedules. Effective December 1, 2013, the following changes will take effect:
1. The filing fee for an appeal to a Court of Appeals will increase by $50, for a new total of $505.
