How long do I serve? | ||

Prospective jurors are summoned to be “on-call” for a particular month beginning with the appearance date on your Jury Summons. To confirm whether you need to report on your service date, select the Reporting Instructions link or call 1 (800) 582-9109 after 6:30 p.m. the evening before your appearance date. Have your nine-digit participant number available. The message will give you specific reporting instructions. If you are told to report and you are selected as a juror, your service ends when the trial ends. If you are not selected on your first appearance, you may be required to report again during the “on-call” period. If you need additional information, please phone the jury section at (956) 726-2276. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |
What if I can't be there? | ||

You may request to be exempted or excused from service or to have your service postponed. You can either select the Postponement or Excuse Request link above or put your request in writing. You must appear unless you are notified that the Court has granted your request. Mail requests to: United States District Court, Attn: Jury Section, 1300 Victoria St., Ste. 1131, Laredo, TX 78040.
