The Honorable Diana Song Quiroga has served as a Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Laredo Division, since 2012. Judge Song Quiroga holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley with highest honors. She clerked for U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison in the Southern District of Texas. She then directed a project serving low-income business owners for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) and earned the U.S. Small Business Administration Women in Business Champion Award. After her time at TRLA, Judge Song Quiroga worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in Laredo, including on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, until she was appointed to the bench. As an AUSA, Judge Song Quiroga received the Director’s Award from the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys. She was also honored by the Federal Bar Association, Southern District of Texas Chapter, with the Michael T. Shelby Award for Outstanding Dedication, Ethics, and Professionalism in the Practice of Law. Judge Song Quiroga is an active member of local and national bar associations. At the American Bar Association, she chaired both the National Conference of Federal Trial Judges and the Standing Committee on Diversity in the Judiciary, and she volunteers in the Judicial Clerkship Program. Judge Song Quiroga also serves on the Judicial Council of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. |
