This is NOT a summons to report for jury service. The purpose is to determine if you are qualified to serve as a juror for the U.S. District Court. If qualified to serve, you may be randomly summoned to serve at a later date between October 2017 and September 2021. How long do I serve? | ||

Prospective jurors are summoned for a date at the beginning of a month. To confirm whether you need to report on your service date, select the Reporting Instructions link or call 1 (800) 582-9109 after 6:00 p.m. the evening before your appearance date. Have your nine-digit participant number available. The message will give you specific reporting instructions. If you are told to report and you are selected as a juror, your service ends when the trial ends. If you are not selected, your jury service will end on the date that juries are selected. If you need additional information, please phone the jury section at (956) 618-8065. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |

You may request to be exempted or excused from service or to have your service postponed. You can either select the Postponement or Excuse Request link above or put your request in writing. You must appear unless you are notified that the Court has granted your request. Mail requests to: United States District Court, Attn: Jury Section, P.O. Box 5059, McAllen, TX 78502.
