Retirement

Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS)

Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) is the current retirement plan for all federal government employees. This is sometimes referred to as a “pension” that comes in the form of a monthly annuity you receive after you retire. The amount of your annuity depends on your length of service, salary and the age you retire. Click on the link below to learn more.

Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)

The TSP is a retirement savings plan for Federal employees that offers the same types of savings and tax benefits offered through private sector 401(k) plans. The retirement income you receive from your TSP account will depend on how much money you put into your account during your working years and the earnings accumulated over that time. The TSP can go with you to your next job if you leave the Federal Government before retirement. You may visit the TSP website by clicking the link below to learn more.
