Attorneys admitted to this district can request a Certificate of Good Standing for a fee of $20. Certificates are only issued to an attorney who is admitted and in good standing with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Your status can be verified through the Attorney Admission Status link.
Requests are completed electronically through District CM/ECF and the fee paid through pay.gov following these instructions. Your Certificate of Good Standing will be delivered electronically to the email address(es) on your District CM/ECF account.
If you are not a District Court ECF User: Complete the Attorney Registration Form for District Electronic Filing. (See the Electronic Case Filing (ECF) Registration Information web page for more information.) The form must be signed and emailed as a .pdf attachment to Houston-Atty-Adm@txs.uscourts.gov. After receiving your District CM/ECF login and password, log in to the Live District EM/ECF System to request your certificate following these instructions.
NOTE: This function is not available in the Bankruptcy Electronic Case Filing system. All attorney admissions records are maintained in the District ECF system.
