Judge Thomas Reavley passed away peacefully at his home last night. During his 99 years, Judge Reavley earned the love, respect, and affection of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Judge Thomas Morrow Reavley, a native of Quitman, Texas, devoted his life to public service. Judge Reavley served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He then worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas, served as the County Attorney in Nacogdoches, Secretary of State for the State of Texas, a state District Judge in Austin, a Justice on the Supreme Court of Texas, and as a member of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit since 1979. He served us all, long and well. We will miss him.
