The Honorable Diana Song Quiroga has served as a United States Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of Texas since 2012. Prior to her elevation to the bench, Judge Song Quiroga was an Assistant United States Attorney distinguished by the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys Director’s Award for Superior Performance, and the FBI Director’s Recognition of Outstanding Prosecutive Skills. She was also honored by the Federal Bar Association, Southern District of Texas Chapter, with the Michael T. Shelby Award for Outstanding Dedication, Ethics, and Professionalism in the Practice of Law.

Earlier in her career, Judge Song Quiroga served as a law clerk to Judge Keith P. Ellison on the Southern District of Texas and as a Project Director at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, where she focused on commercial litigation and counseled low-income owners of small businesses. For this work, the U.S. Small Business Administration named her a Women in Business Champion.

Judge Song Quiroga earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy, with highest honors, from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She later received her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She is a past Chair of the National Conference of Federal Trial Judges, and the Judicial Division's Standing Committee on Diversity in the Judiciary of the American Bar Association. Judge Song Quiroga remains actively engaged in numerous bar associations and civic education initiatives.
