Attorney Taft Foley II graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received his Juris Doctor degree from Texas Southern University in 2001.  Mr. Foley served as an intern with the Cochran Law Firm, under the mentorship of the late Johnny Cochran and as a Law Clerk for The Honorable Lynn Hughes.  Taft Foley currently serves as Executive Board Member and General Counsel for the NAACP Houston, legal adviser to United States Congressman Al Green and is the founder of The Foley Law Firm where he practices personal injury and employment law.  Attorney Foley has received the Lawyer of the Year Award from the Harris County Counsel of Organizations, The NAACP Presidents Award, The NAACP Award for Legal Excellence and both the President’s Award and the Community Impact Award from the Houston Lawyer’s Association.  Mr. Foley’s most notable accomplishments are marrying the much smarter Tiye Foley, an intellectual property lawyer at Baker Donnelson, and his son Taft Foley III who next week will be the youngest and the first African-American Eagle Scout in the seventy year history of his Troop.
