United States District Judge Alfred H. Bennett was nominated by Barack Obama on January 7, 2015, to a seat vacated by Kenneth M. Hoyt. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 13, 2015, and received his commission on April 15, 2015. Judge Bennett was administered the oath of office on April 16, 2015. He will serve in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas.
