The district court and magistrate judges' case managers maintain the docket and control all cases assigned to their respective judges, both civil and criminal. The magistrate case managers calendar and regulate the movement of criminal cases in their preliminary stages, including setting initial appearances, bail hearings, arraignments and preparing docket control orders for the district court judges; they also handle pretrial matters which are referred by the district court. The district court case managers calendar and regulate the movement of all civil and criminal cases from pretrial stages through disposition on all cases assigned to their judges' docket.
